How it works

Biodegradable kitchen and garden waste is put into one of the drums. The drum is then turned by hand which causes the contents to mix.

Once the drum becomes either too full or too heavy, one then starts to fill the second drum.

When the second drum becomes either too full or too heavy, one empties the first drum, either onto the ground or into a black bin bag (if it is not ready for use in the garden).

One then starts filling the first drum and so the two drums are kept in different stages of digestion.
